  •  An even better example was the Fair Pay Act. (8+ / 0-)

Why wasn't this voted on before they left to campaign.

They could have just campaigned on this one issue.

Since the American electorate is highly ignorant you have to break things down to the simplest form for them to get it.  .

    Campaign 2010.

Why would any woman vote Republican when they don't believe you deserve fair pay for the same job as a man.

Why would any man who has a woman in their life they care about vote Republican.

Poll: Most don't know what GOP won

Only 46 percent of respondents in a Pew Research poll released Thursday knew that the GOP had taken over only the House, while a mere 38 percent can identify Ohio Republican John Boehner as the incoming speaker. Three times as many young people, under age 30, could properly identify Google's new phone software, Android, as could identify Boehner.

Additionally, 27 percent of Americans do not know if the Republicans won either chamber of Congress while 5 percent believe the Democrats kept both chambers. Fourteen percent said the Republicans won both chambers.

Most respondents said Republicans generically did better than Democrats this cycle. Seventy-five percent of all respondents regarded the GOP as "doing the best" in the 2010 elections.

Make more noise in more places, monitor carefully for effect, fine-tune messaging, lather, rinse, repeat. There is no alternative I can think of.

But not surprising given the anti-intellectual ethos promoted by the GOP and many religious denominations, along with the elimination of civics from schools and the general ruination of public education.
