    How many middle-class people will still be able to afford to live in a former farm field when gasoline hits $4 per gallon? Or $4.40? Or $5? How will they afford driving everywhere to do anything?

    Housing costs aren't the only factor. The true measure is housing plus transportation. And by that standard, Web, you've told me all I need to know that if those homes are ever built, they'll be abandoned or slums by mid-century.
