    Do I believe people really can change political philosophy?  Yes, certainly I do.  

    I do think, though, that people's early affiliation influences their style.  The columnist David Brooks, for example, was a liberal when he was young and is now a conservative.  I find his columns easy-to -read and not hostile even when I disagree.  His STYLE is still very liberal, even when his opinions are not.   And many times I see his opinions tempered by his early liberalism.

    I find the same (in reverse) to be true of Ariana and Cenk, and to some extent Kos.  They tend to paint things in terms of black and white, they tend to be much more confrontational and aggressive than I am used to.  

    And yes, I agree they are impatient.

      to that point about style. Republicans do tend to be more dogmatic. So maybe a Republican-turned-Democrat might take that same dogmatism with them. It's hard for me to understand because I don't see how someone can go from being dogmatic Republican to dogmatic liberal Democrat. It's like swinging from one extreme to the other. Maybe that's the problem. Too much extremism.
