  •  I guess we need to try to figure out what unites (0+ / 0-)

    progressives, so that we can all rally around something, some shared set of principles -- not just specific policies but a philosophy that underlies the policies we wish to enact.

    As a Unitarian Universalist, personally I draw inspiration both for my religious and political views from some basic moral/spiritual/philosophical principles such as "the inherent worth and dignity of all people." I am liberally religious and religiously liberal.

      . . . "the inherent worth and dignity of all people" would also be cited by the Right as their guiding philosophy as well right? That only individualism and freedom recognizes the inherent worth and dignity of all people, and allows them to develop their God-given talents to the fullest extent, and live their lives free of government interference, and reap the full benefits of their labors without excessive taxation.

      I think it has to be more specific than that, no?
