And also, it's not merely a question of informed, as opposed to uninformed.  It's also a question of how we test our interpretations against other interpretations and reality.

is the emotional centeredness of indomitability. Calmly standing in the well of truth, and letting the superfluous conflict do its thing. And you radiate that indomitability. Thanks.

Cynicism is voter suppression we do to ourselves. h/t Errol

...sometimes I radiate a shitload of anger.

But I like to think that while I get angry and frustrated, I keep my goals as a Democrat in mind.  I see the party as a means to my ends.  While I'm not going to be satisfied with a party that seems overly deferential to the Republicans, I think its better that we make Democratic Party domination of Washington a long term reality, both to keep the sheep of the Washington Democrats from trying to go rightward in response to our losses, but also to corrode the weakened hold the Republicans have on policy.  That will make it easier for us to push the Overton Window in the desired direction.

There's a sort of strange loop at work, a relationship between voters and politicians that can reinforce or confound different directions in political activity.

But I do go for indomitability, because I believe that this political change we're engaged in is in part a test of one group's willpower against another.  If our advantageous demographics don't come out to support us, we lose elections, especially in transitional periods like this.  We need to be willing to decide that we too are going to support moving the country politically in a certain direction, whether our politicians want to move it in that direction or not.
