mwm341 can't get to DC unless you already live there.... and when your unemployment has run out?  No way are you going to come up with the money to travel.

      •  I'm sure this community would find a way (0+ / 0-)

for the unemployed to get to DC if someone would organize a rally.  Where there is a will, there is a way.

        •  I skip meals... (0+ / 0-)

the end of the month or buy the absolute cheapest food I can manage.  No amount of 'will' is going to get me 3000 miles for a protest.

        •  We should organize local rallies with DKos 4.0 (0+ / 0-)

There's no need to get everyone to DC, when we could could organize a thousand local rallies with the total equivalent number of people, or maybe even more since it would be easier for more people to participate. It's been reported that DKos 4.0 will have some tools that will make it easier to organize locally or in regional areas. When DKos 4.0 comes out (supposedly before the end of the year although it's pressing pretty close to that now), I think we should all try use the community organizing tools to organize a day of a thousand or so local rallies for jobs and the unemployed. A thousand rallies with five thousand people at each one on the same day would grab some attention.
