  •  What pressure? If they run out the clock, and do (0+ / 0-)

zippo, what comes in in January is a House they control, and a Senate in which a working 'bipartisan majority' is in reach, and they can crow that they kept the Socialists from doing bad things by party discipline, so let's have more of it, and people better let them rule if they know what is good for them because the other party is in disarray and can't lay a finger on them for two years, and perhaps after that. They are not concerned that there is no budget for 2011 and no appropriations bills at all passed, and are fighting out internally whether to bust the full faith and credit of the US so as to get still smaller government. When DADT is more important to them than paying troops in the field, you gotta know they have perspective issues that those here will never understand, and managed despite them to do well last Nov.

But for Dems this roar tonight and in the last few days is what they prefer. It's always easier to fight one's own than the well disciplined Rs. And January could produce de Mint as the minority leader in the Senate, not old McConnell.
