Good because the deal wasn't all that.

Bad because Dem congress-critters will now be seen by the general public to have been the obstacle. It would have been much better for the GOPers to have put the kibosh on it...

will be seen by the general public as the ones that caused their taxes to raise, caused 2 million unemployed heads of household not to get an extension, caused the loss of the child credit and earned income credit, caused them to loose a deduction for their college kids tuition, caused small business to loose important investment deductions, and the list goes on and on.

Why any of you think it's good to sacrifice the economic interests of the majority of the people when the economy needs a bump largely because you're angry about the wealthy getting more tax cuts is way beyond puzzling to me.

fuck over 99'ers in order to ram through cuts to Social Security...but you should be aware that those aren't popular policies.

This bill does not contain cuts to social security.  It could lead to cuts in the future.  I won't argue that point at all and that is one danger I see in the bill.  I am very much on the fence regarding the payroll tax holiday.  I say strip it out and restore the making America work pay credit.

As far as the 99'ers no extension bill recently has included them and that includes the bill in the house that failed in November.  That is a travesty that should be rectified.  As I said below I hope it is with the house holding strong.

But let's say the whole bill blows up whatever unemployment extensions are coming won't include the 99'ers either.
