    Except I'd argue that they apply the wrong criteria to "law" as well. If they applied the same standards to gravity that they apply to climate change, they wouldn't believe in it, either.

      when discussing the matter with deniers.  Saying you do not believe in evolution carries about as much scientific weight as saying you do not believe in gravity.  Neither phenomenon cares one way or the other whether mere mortals believe in it. It is a fact and the process goes on whether anyone believes in it or not.
