the "all volunteer force". I was drafted in '69. Spent 21 months. Went to Viet Nam, came home did the best I could from there.
    I started out at $ 92.00 and ended up at $ 455.00.
We can't afford an all volunteer force constantly being put into a war.
These privates start out around $ 1,200.00 and quickly go to the $ 20,000's per year.
Bring back the draft. We will never have another accountable minute in the war making business until EVERYONE"S kids are at rtisk.

sone is National Guard "excused" from their duties to campaign for Daddy's partners in crime.Far too many stay in as long as the gravy keeps coming and gets thicker - unless they lose arms and legs and get essentially forgotten and cast aside once time adds up also to more air full of bullets to have to get through.

Many said it loudly , yet it's still not true.

but what if the rich kids make crappy soldiers?  Lives are at stake.

If the military paid better, it's likely it would attract more and better applicants.  Maybe not Rush Limbaugh's kid, but possible more lower-middle-classers who are uninteresed in trade schools and don't want to work at Wal Mart.
