    Remember?  "Fighting Dems"?  Duckworth would hardly be the first member to live slightly outside one's district -- Bob Brady did before the 2001 redistricting moved him in, and many essentially live full-time in DC.

    I see no evidence online that Duckworth had DLC backing.  The AFL-CIO and EMILY's List, yes.

      legs blown off is probably not the most important criterion when running for office; particularly when there is a perfectly good candidate who has already made a name for themselves in the District. That just sounds a little gimmicky. No personal slight meant to her, but it might have been an idea for her to start on a county council or school board.

      Don't you think that a lot of the appeal for such as Cegelis might have been her community ties?
