    Of course that means the DOJ

    needs to enforce those laws.

      over the years the laws regarding worker safety have had their teeth pulled.  Unions and union-negotiated work rules were the first line of defense for worker safety.  With those rules gone and the laws they were based on there is not a lot that the DOJ can inforce that has any bite in it.  
        What is so sad in this is that the very people who are most benefited by worker safety are electing the people who have been the most anti-organized labor. That a state such as Kentucky, which is so dependent on the ooal industry, should have ANY Republican members of Congress, knowing how the GOP has savaged the unions, is incomprehensable.  Talk about people voting against their economic self-interest...this is a prime example!
