    ...as attainable...

    That doesn't mean many (or even most) voters don't make choices based on thoughts that they will find (phenomenally) greater success around the next corner.

    The first step to reducing this behavior is having Democrats stand up and make the case for their positions.  Being honest about what we our side is proposing, why, and how it will affect real Americans, not hypothetical or faceless generic examples.

    I never saw the President make that case before caving on the biggest issues of contention, I didn't see him campaigning for the Dream act or the repeal of DADT either.  The failures he identified around January 2010 appear to be the same flaws his Administration suffers from a year later.  He is the leader of the party and the nation, but I'm seeing more following in the footsteps of Congress and very little leading.
