As you acknowledged -- he was "excellent" as communicating the differences between himself and his opponents -- which was something he wanted and needed to communicate.

Your complaint -- now -- is that he isn't communicating something you think he should.  Perhaps if he wanted and felt he needed to communicate what you're wanting to hear -- he might be excellent at that as well.

Maybe it's really that he doesn't want to communicate what you want him to.  As other people have pointed out to you -- he has long been talking about getting past partisan divides -- so -- it seems reasonable to me that he wouldn't want to make this about Republicans vs. Democrats.

It's a not necessarily a "failure" on his part that he isn't doing something you think he should.

Failure on his part would be defined as doing something that I feel certain was wrong or stupid. LOL

demonstrate that there is a problem.  The question is what is wrong with Obama (and the house and senate leadership for that matter).

Some are proposing he compromises too much.

I am proposing that he failed to illuminate the differences between the dems and republicans.

But the crushing defeat we suffered in the last election is clear evidence that something is wrong, and it must be changed.

      thats Obamas view.

Unfortunately I see that as disastrous from a policy standpoint.
