  •  The Stand was one of the most promising (0+ / 0-)

    books King wrote, and I think the bulk of it is worth reading, but there's really no point to reading the ending.  It's a giant insult, like a six-storey-tall colossal middle finger.  "Eh, I've written enough, now take this butt-wipe of an ending and go away!"

    King books that were perfect:

    Rose Madder
    The Long Walk (as Richard Bachmann)
    Needful Things

    Liberty, Equality, Opportunity.
