is that some cops just love to plant drugs on minority "suspects".

based on a small minority of criminal cops who break the law to abuse people in our country....we must draft legislation based on the majority of crimes that are fairly adjudicated...

No criminal system is perfect and ours is far from...but I think you will find in most cases where people were "unfairly" convicted they were in fact engaging in illegal activity and they admit that they have in fact possessed contraband...

but I hope that you also understand mine, which is that it's actually quite easy to get stuck with a felony in the U.S., especially easy for minorities to get stuck with minor felonies, which can range anywhere from possession of small amounts of drugs or paraphernalia to using a fake I.D. to get into a club or buy alcohol.

Shit, I'd be a felon if I had gotten caught at some of the what I view as benign things that I did in my youth.

And the problem is not just criminal cops... it's also that the criminal justice system throughout many parts of the U.S.(and especially in the south) is just pretty draconian in general.

I've had a few brushes with the criminal justice system, and that's just . . . not my experience.

I can understand your POV...but if you look at the 10s of thousands of criminal cases adjudicated each year...a small fraction are actually miscarriages of justice...of course like any other anomolies...they get so much press that it looks to the average person like it happens 3 days a week...
