The media takes the side where the money is. The media doesn't really care about political opinions and nation states. It cares about the advertising. It cares about who can pay the bills and raise the profit margin.

If LW paid as well as the RW, then you'd see the media run to offer that side what they wanted to bring in the ears and eyes.

Think tanks and political parties mean nothing.

      that's another limbaugh talking point

RW talk radio was heavily subsidized to start and it is now a well protected monopoly.

limbaugh and hannity didn't get 1/2BIL $ for selling flowers and water heaters and flooring and penile enhancement formula. no one ever will. they make that money for being instrumental in selling bush, iraq, deregulation, supreme court judges, and global warming denial.

progressive talkers like randi rhodes thom hartmann ed schultz can and have beaten the main RW talkers on an even playing field, but there isn't much of that, and the right protects it's talkers from competition very well. there are many blue parts of the country with many overlapping and duplicate  RW talkers and NO LW talkers. there are NO major LW talkers in NY city!

the country recently voted obama in in a landslide and has 95% RW radio?

Progressives will lose all major messaging battles until they picket the limbaugh/hannity megastations and boycott those stations' local sponsors.

Thats sort of what I been trying to say.  Here in Iowa , the first caucus state , there is no progressive radio, but you can hear Rush etc. on four stations at the same time.  We got to fix this quick , and out here a five mile station isnt going to do it.
