Just because your medium of ingesting the stream is on a smart phone or over an Internet connection does not diminish the content being delivered.

And I am sure you are going to say that but AM/FM radio is free and it is cheap to own a hand held radio.

Sure but the majority, the great majority of Americans, can right now, at this second, listen to radio being broadcast from every single corner of this globe, which you could never do with a $1.99 radio sitting in your kitchen.

The better way to look at it is how do you give ever single American, regardless of their financial means, access to internet radio.

That is the future, and should be a priority, not maintaing an outdated, archaic communication structure.

is not causing our problems and will not cure it.  Truckers, farmers and people in rural areas dont sit in front of a computer all day unless they are working on it.  Also many people like myself here in IOwa do not have broadband access.   We need fairness doctrin or our own 50KW stations like clear channel uses here.  I do not even know anybody that has an I phone or pad.  Your solution wont work here, and this is where the t-baggers are coming first for caucus.

    •  Aside from NPR, it sucks. (1+ / 0-)

Here in Ohio, it's all right-wing all the time.
