  •  "critical infrastructure/key resource facilities" (13+ / 0-)

Bush Administration included over 5000 thingy  key resouces such as tourist attractions.  Yes, taking a picture of the World's second largest ball of twine could put YOU on the list.

Note "commercial facilities" in the list above.

In other words, the next Congress will not require that critical infrastructure/key resource facilities have adequate fencing so you can tell the perimeter. If you walk on the premises, you are a terrorist.

      aren't considered critical infrastructure.

As we have discovered we are expendable as long as it increases profits. Just ask those Americans who were terrorized by for profit health insurance companies.

The true terrorists are those whose unbridled greed know no bounds.

    •  Or if you are one of these (6+ / 0-)

      "homeless persons, street vendors,
demonstrators, or street sweepers" near critical infrastructure.

    •  I recall a 60 Minutes segment not too long ago (4+ / 0-)

about all the US chemical plants and refineries that had little or no security fencing (or for that matter security guards) to keep out the terrists.  It was pretty astounding - I think the "too much gummint regulation killing our profits" canard was a big theme - not unlike the apparent lack of interest to fund the scanning of overseas shipping containers (Republicans wouldn't dare interfere with the free market getting all that toxic, hazardous crap from China to WalMart).

Ok - here's the 60 Minutes story - it was from 2004 - a little further back than I thought.

(I'm sure that Google search is now in my file.  Might as well go pull up some of these plants in Google Earth just to raise a few more flags).

I guarantee I'll buy health insurance when I'm guaranteed I'll be covered.

      (IOW, arrested) for taking pictures of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC. Can't substantiate;

But I personally have been warned away from taking photos on a downtown street because a Bank of America building was in the picture.

And people I know personally have been confronted for taking pictures of public parks and fountains.

It's dangerous to be a tourist in America.

I'm only going to take pictures indoors or when I leave the country.

I'm going to do nothing suspicious--I'm going to show no expression as I walk by surveilance cameras other than expressions that I see on other people's faces. I will feign delight and make silly jokes about stupid TV shows I can't watch.

The point of all this "terror" bullshit has everything to do with terrorizing us. I will tell you, and you don't have to believe it, that there is very little danger for any of us from alleged "terrorists" usually recruited by the security agencies from a their nest of semi-retarded people they cajole into Monty-Pythonesque terror "plots." I can understand the security services wanting to terrorize and enslave us (yes, that's their intention) but what I don't understand is people falling for this fakery and obvious ruse to create a full-fledged police-state. We are actually already in one since we have no habeas corpus. If these agenst want they an do anything they want with you. Gives them enormous power and they will use it either for financial gain or personal pleasure.

If I didn't have kids here I would get out of the country very quickly before the Iron Curtain completely descends on us. Stalin essentially has won the Cold War from the grave.
