In 1969, I tried to subscribe to the Black Panther newspaper.  That summer two FBI agents came to my home to ask me where I got information to make such a subscription.  This was interesting because the address I wanted the paper sent to was different than the home address on my check.

I refused to tell them, of course.

I was a student at Northwestern at this time and the campus police took pictures of a people at an anti-war rally.

For the first few years of the Iraq War, I would regularly go to the Plaza in Kansas City and protest the war.  At times you could see the police on a roof several blocks away taking pictures of those at the protest.

I'm well aware that my credit card accounts are being monitored.

I have missed out on not being on the no-fly list although I share the same name as a serial killer.

Welcome to 2010.  Isn't 2010 another way of saying 1984?

There are times in politics when you must be on the right side and lose.
