We'll be lucky to get a deal as good as Simpson-Bowles brand catfood.  At least Simpson and Bowles realize revenue has to go up.

We need a far stronger effort to lobby politicians and to push the meme of conservative media bias.  There is a full scale cross-party revolt against America by elites in this country, and they need to be called out on it relentlessly.

I'm basically a believer in the free market, low taxation, individual liberty etc. — except that in order to sustain these things, everyone or nearly everyone has to be able to afford to participate.  And that only happens with progressive taxation (no matter how low it actually is) and progressive benefits.  What we're seeing now from the likes of CBS and the Republican Governors and everyone else is advocacy of Latin American-like economic sclerosis that takes down the broader economy for the sake of a handful of people living in gated subdivisions and commuting to "work" by helicopter.

as the megaphone it carries. The lamestream (heh) media WILL NOT present economic issues fairly so we will have to communicate almost completely by grassroots organizing and world-of-mouth.

Unless you're directly benefiting from the fleecing somehow, all your blind investment in establishment politics has bought you, is a dog-and-pony show.
