  •  Obama strategy didn't budge; that's how I know. (1+ / 0-)

The strategy Obama was pursuing for getting rid of DADT was exactly the same after a handful of self-promoters starting go all emo as it was before they did.

While they were demanding that he change course - that he abandon his efforts to get repeal through Congress, that he settle for a half-assed stop-loss order, that his commitment to real repeal was just a fraud - he stayed the course.  He altered absolutely nothing in response to the misguided, confused pressure.

He told us what he was going to do.  He then went forward and started doing it.  When faced with criticism from certain quarters, he kept doing it.  When accused of not actually working to do it, he kept doing it.  When his accusers called him their enemy, he kept doing it.  When they insisted it was doomed, he kept doing it.

    And then, it worked.

How do I know that the emo act didn't have an effect?  Because Obama completely, utterly ignored everything his detractors were telling him to do and kept pursuing repeal his way, not altering course even the slightest bit.

Art is the handmaid of human good.
