    .... is that proposal whereby you can opt out for five years but can't opt back in if you get sick.

    Let's call that one what it is:  It's a way of killing people who don't pony up.  Your money or your life.

      employer-based pre-existing condition exclusion period is 18 months.

      The New York State community-rated health insurance pre-existing exclusion period is 12 months.

        .... by lethal injection, which arguably leads to an agonizing death by suffocation whilst one's muscles are flaccid giving the appearance of a peaceful death without all the thrashing and moaning of the gas chamber, or burning and sizzling of the electric chair, much less the gush of blood from the guillotine.  

        So?

        Does that make it right?  

        Hell no.  

        Either way, an exclusion period is murder because it kills people who would otherwise be treated and live.
