    I don't see Democrats ever nominating another Southerner in the foreseeable future mainly because there are almost none. And Obama's victory proved that Democrats could win without the South by focusing on locking down the industrial Midwest and the West.

    The GOP is very likely to select candidates from the South as it is now their base.  But these candidates will likely be judged to conservative for most in the nation.
