  •  You hear all the negatives about this program (30+ / 0-)

and I thought a postive was in order. I read yesterday that over 700,000 people who applied for this program were rejected or could not qualify, while over 500,000 were helped. Why is it they always magnify the negative? There are reasons those 700,000 were rejected, either they had no income, could not make their even reduced payments on time, didn't follow through with their financial institution, and yes, there were some asshole financial institutions. However, 500,000 who would have never recieved any help got it, and that is a BFD, in my opinion anyway. Yesterday, my brother asked on his facebook page, if the quid was worth the quo? Several of his gay friends said absolutly, others who were not gay said not so much. I guess it just depends on what your immediate needs are, and if Obama's policies help you. I am sure those people with pre-existing conditions are thankful for HCR, but those who have good healthcare and find their premiums increasing, not so much. "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder".
Unfortunatly no one is going to give me a segment on their nightly news broadcast, nor will Paul Krugman write a column about my household, whose husband lost his job, and applied for SS and my small income to support ourselves so a program like the HAMP, was a godsend to help us survive this economy. That is good news and positive, and God forbid anyone reports on positives, it doesn't inspire ratings or contraversary.

    •  One thing I'd like to see (5+ / 0-)

I'd like to know if there's any correlation between those accepted/denied and the servicers involved. Is it really broken down by income, or do some lenders have any significantly different rates of acceptance compared to others?

I'm especially curious if anyone has had a successful mod through Bank of America.

The polls don't tell us how a candidate is doing; they tell us how the media is doing.

      •  Yeah, (0+ / 0-)

A relative of mine when thru a couple with BoA.  But this person is also rather lazy with follow up...  don't get me started on that one...
