  •  What you've perhaps missed is that someone (10+ / 0-)

criticized the Presidents policies, including the tax refund for the wealthies as not being good for the poor.

There then ensued a tremendous attack on the author, suggesting she could not be poor herself, as she claimed, because she was using internet to post her.  They then questioned whether she was truly black, as she claimed, or perhaps, even a sock-puppet of someone banned in the past, or maybe a puma, or perhaps, Allegre herself.

Attacking the author, not her ideas, has generated a lot of tangential discussions.

She pointed out that if your point was to stimulate the economy in a way that would maximal help the poor, investing money in infrastructure development, jobs programs, money so states don't have to lay off fire fighters etc.  Economists suggest the the mulitplier effects on these kinds of policies would be 1.6 or above rather than .35 for tax cuts for the wealthiest.

A gang of the usual suspects tried to discredit her on these silly personal attacks, overlooking the obvious substantive response that due to GOP obstructionism President Obama probably could not have passed these higher leverage interventions.

But, by attacking the author on whether she was poor seemed sad, gratuitous, and something that did not really help the President, and something I'm sure he would renouce, denounce, and "refudiate" if he saw such folks doing this in his name, purportedly to defend him.

With supporters like these, who needs the GOP real enemies?
