        his grandson. And simply about himself. Though the implication that it would be true of the grandson too is there, it isn't directly stated.

        He says that there are two wolves in his heart. One (as I recall) is filled with anger and selfishness. The other is filled with caring and another quality --wisdom? generosity? I wish I remembered that. The two wolves are always fighting.

        THe grandson asks,"Which of the wolves will win?"

        The grandfather says, "The one I feed."

        For me, the simplicity makes it more striking. But that's a personal reaction & I"m sure will vary.
