Every year new species are discovered in Laos, and every year undiscovered species go extinct. There is no telling which one of the unnoticed species would have been vitally important to our understanding of our world around us.

We all know of the charismatic mega fauna, the tiger and slow loris, less so of the saola, and much less so the thousands of different fish and insects.

I fly, even though I try to make it as seldom as I can.

I burn gas, and natural gas, and eat meat from the store. Every day I burn more carbon than the entire village of Ban Nam Hee does in a month.

I'm not saying I should go to live in a bamboo house on the side of a mountain, but I could clean up my foot print so that we lose less species.
