  •  This is a huge, nuclear-blast-sized disaster (4+ / 0-)

It cannot be overstated. The Repukes have now destroyed the US government. There can be no spending, only tax cuts for the wealthy.

They have turned the USA into a failed state, like California, circa the last 10 years.  Direct hit, nuclear bomb, blowing up the government.

CA is only now crawling out from this crater ourselves, but just as we do so, the Repugs blow a huge hole in the whole country.

I can't imagine what kind of magick nth-dimentional chess that Obama/Reid/Pelosi could possibly use to pull us out of this.

Powerful Dems coulda been down on the whole torture/fascism/perpetual war thing, and maybe made Republicans look kinda bad.

They coulda been on the progressive side of the economic downturn, instead of joining Republicans in giving money hand-over-fist to wallstreet like cheap REagan REvolution groupy whores.

Same with the extending Bushco tax cuts.

There are a plethora of powerful, central, powerfully meaningful political issues where powerful Dems could have been scoring political points against the fascists all along.

Ya know?  Instead of offering consensus, dumbing-down, and potent CYA to the Republicans at every freakin' juncture?

Admit it kossacks, and weep for years of wasted effort stooging for stooges.

      •  Stoogery is additive. (1+ / 0-)

Here's how it works:  Dems stooge for the Reagan Revolution, with dedication, vigor, and much malice, on issue after issue.

        Somehow this is called "politics".

Kossacks in turn stooge for the Democrats, in some mistaken belief that this will somehow lead to "better" Democrats in some mystical, apolitically derived future.

This again is somehow to be conflated with politics and being smart.

But guess what, kossacks?  The stoogery is additive.  It doesn't cancel out.  It doesn't redeem itself.  The more stoogery, the worse, and the absolutely more-worse on every level, until it redounds.

Kind of like it is right now, and things end up just like the are.

        See what I'm getting at?
