  •  I admit it.... (none)
the doctrines are not infallible, apparently, in the precise, theologically twisted sense you're reffering to.But, please, help yourself and read that article which I linked to above and you will see why the Church can't change it's position without renouncing Papal infallibility. It's quite subtle actually. But that's the nub of it.

    •  Strangely enough. . . (none)
. . .the Popes only became "infallible" fairly recently.  The Vatican Council only declared the doctrine of Papal Infallibility in July of 1870!

Which brings up quite a few questions for thinking Catholics. Are only Popes after 1870 infallible? What about all those times the Church has had to reverse the decrees of former Popes? What made that Pope in 1870 suddenly think he could be infallible? Doesn't this smack of blasphemy, since surely only God Himself is infallible?

      Hmmmm.

          •  That's alright.. (none)
has happened to me plenty of times. I was also in kind of a bad mood at the time I wrote to upbraid you about that,BTW. Nothing important. The points you made are still relevent though. But I'll let the Catholics in the audience try to worm their where through with the usual sophistries. I'm a rabid atheist. Non credo qui abdurdum est, in case anyone got the wrong impression.

I'd rather be trolled than have a zero-rating. Just don't ignore me...
