    our professional organisers were dead set against such approaches. They had two concerns. First was obviously the much reduced ability to control the message. Second was that it promoted secret support, rather than proud, open support that leads to solidarity. I recall making the arguments that your diary highlights, though I also recognised the potential downsides enough to not press the matter. I was a scientist, not a professional organiser, and I was more than content to let the professionals make those decisions.

    But, I've always wondered if such tools could be put to good and effective use. I think there is a definite lesson to be learned here, and this diary is a fantastic start. I am passing this along to some of my friends.
