that Obama ranks w/the Great Presidents.

Not just b/c I'm a Obot, but b/c I want America to come to our senses.

    I want America to succeed.

Which POTUS most closely resembles our current POTUS' situation?

This post doesn't convince me he's a Van Buren.

I think he can place among the greats.

      and for the same reasons.

I'm not trying to say that Obama is a Van Buren, or that he's destined to be regarded in the same vein.  Still, when I think about the question you asked, I keep coming back to the situations each of those two presidents faced.  The trashed economy, the predecessor's human rights abuses, the opposition built around destroying him - it's all there - but I'd never contend that the two men are at all similar in background or philosophical bent.

Obama to succeed massively. I want him to go out larger than life.  FDR writ large. Spectactular success.

I think he has it in him, & I think we can help him get there.

He's a good man. He's what our country needs. None of us are perfect, and we shouldn't expect perfection of him, but he's close enough, & I love him.

FWIW, I hope my love and admiration helps him moving forward.
