    I grew up with a father who was the founder of a local ACLU chapter in West Covina, California. He worked with the police to achieve better treatment of minority kids (Latinos, AAs) who were arrested. I myself have been the victim of police brutality.

    As well as being concerned about the horrible treatment of incarcerated people, I'm particularly disturbed about the high number of convicted people who are possibly innocent, especially those with long sentences or those on death row, and the unfair sentencing mandates.

    Thanks for your comment, but not all of us need to be educated, having known about these problems for decades, although I always appreciate learning something new about our government's activities in this regard.
