    Although by the time I post this comment I'm sure there will be more. (Let the record state I was the first!)

    I make an okay living. I make more than the average household in Idaho and I'm single. So that's good for me, not so much for others. I still don't know how people with kids live off what I make.

    My wages have been pretty stagnant though. I get a raise every year but it only keeps up with the cost of living. So it's not like I do better and better every year, I just stay the same. There's no hope for upward mobility and I think that's about where most people like me are sitting.

    All that being said, if I lost my job tomorrow and was fortunate enough to find another one, I'd probably earn a little over half of what I make now.

    In other words, the war on the middle class seems to be going along quite nicely. Those of us who are still comfortable are sufficiently scared enough to settle for stagnation and not make any waves.

    P.S. I am not a crackpot.
