    that the behavior and language of the top of the economy and its champions is one of people who have utter and absolute immunity.

    They've been acting this way for a very long time. They plan decades farther ahead than most of us guess.

      I disagree. I think it's the opposite. No interest in long-term planning. Those at the top of the economy are much more absorbed in the present than most of us guess.
      There is also a greater amount of incompetence at the top than most would guess as well.
      What's missing is vision and leadership. I rarely hear anything about the future from our political and economic champions. They're desperately trying to maintain business-as-usual.
