Those who do this are working to take over the country. Many of them, for example some of the Christianists, make no secret of it. Violence like this serves and advances their ends.

No, they have no shame. As I commented constantly after our 2006 wins, the right has one sole response to all events: escalate. I've been right every day since then, and so I predict escalation of their rhetoric now.

Where I would pose your question is to leadership of the Democratic Party, to whatever religious left there may be that has any activism, other elements of the progressive movement outside the party.

Have they learned yet; will they at long last finally acknowledge what is coming at this country and its people, and mount a credible opposition?

...served those far out on the right well because each and every time, a false-equivalence campaign begins anew. And with it, Democrats and progressives back down.

I guess what I'm really calling for here is for the Democratic Party leadership, those of the religious left, and all us members of the progressive movement to stand up and use videos like this to call out the hateful, violent words and say,

"At long last, have you not learned? Have you no shame?"

Not in the comfy environs of a blog diary among kindred spirits, like the one I just authored. But to their faces; on the airwaves; in print; in our various other more mainstream social media venues like Facebook, etc. Call it out and shame them with this - over and over and over and over again, wherever and whenever it happens. Let's shame them into putting this tactic away.

      Thanks, Gooserock!
