The point here isn't to equate what Sharron Angle said with what Jared Lee Loughner did on Saturday....

It should be the point.  The apparent difference is simply that Loughner is a tad more unhinged than Angle.  Or more opportunistic.

There's a big difference.  You lack credibility by not seeing it.

      •  Hence the use of " opportunistc." (0+ / 0-)
The difference is one of degree only.

      •  And by the way, I notice you're spending a LOT (0+ / 0-)

of time support the right-wing viewpoint on this.

So, in terms of credibility I think mine stands up very well to yours.  Which, being nonexistent by now isn't a particular stretch.

        Just sayin'....

I'm not credible because I'm not just mindlessly parroting the party line?  That's your definition of credible?

Then you fundamentally fail to understand free speech.  If I say, "I think it's not a terrible idea to rob a bank," it's more than a difference "of degree" to run out and actually do it.

Or, am I now partially responsible for every robbery that should happen in the future?

By rushing to blame this specific event on specific rhetoric, we risk looking like people who will simply blame the right for everything, all the time, no matter what.
