    That website is BS on a couple of things. Here's a quote from the link above:

    Currently, licensed gun dealers are required to run criminal background checks on all buyers, but a loophole in the law enables criminals to avoid these checks if they buy from gun-sellers who don't have licenses. Often operating at gun shows, these unlicensed sellers give criminals the opportunity to sidestep the background check system and easily purchase guns. Congress should close the gun show loophole.

    First of all, there is no loophole. The law is structured so that ALL FFLs need to run a background check when they sell a firearm. It doesn't matter where it takes place. Gun show, their place of business, etc.

    Private sellers (this would include me) aren't required to run a background check. If I sold a rifle in a Walmart parking lot, there would be no background check. If I sold one at a gunshow, no background check. If I sold one at work (which I've actually done before) there would be no background check.

    So it's not a gunshow loophole. That's how the law is set up purposely.
