Sarah Palin wants attention, she wants status and she wants money.

      •  A Lot of People Want These Things (0+ / 0-)

It's a matter of degree.  I want them a little.  She wants them more.  I think circumstances gave her a taste of a little more than that and now she is just lunging after it where it is dangled in front of her.

a lot of people don't.  Ones that do tend to have narcissistic personalities where they don't give a shit about anyone but themselves.

          sound like anyone we know?

A person of average intelligence and a background that has limited her intellectually, with some fairly conventional desires about having money, being famous, etc.

Now, having been given a taste for these things, she just keeps going after more.  The media, the Republican party, the politics of it all -- drives her in the direction she is going.

            She's not a leader.

she made around seven million dollars last year.

And she did it this way.

And she'll continue to do it until someone powerful --hopefully, and I can hope, can't I--a Democrat-- holds her accountable.

        •  No. It's not that she "wants them more". (11+ / 0-)

It's that she will stop at nothing to get more.  It's that she will say whatever it takes to get idiots to give her more.  It's that she has reckless disregard for the collateral damage done by her campaigns to get more.

Her actions are sociopathic.  She doesn't simply have a more intense desire to "succeed" than other people; she is simply prepared to play dirtier than anybody else.  She's the female Karl Rove in that way.

    •  she ran for Vice President (0+ / 0-)

she's not nobody. You can't just stick your head in the sand and wish her away.

The Phelpsies are still traipsing around the country with their goddamn neon signs. Ignoring them simply doesn't work. Just chalking this up to narcissism is going too far, I think. Not to say that Palin isn't a narcissist; but she's also, I think, a fanatic. Like a whole bunch of people on the extremist right these days.

They must be confronted, not just expected to peter out on their own. They're awfully motivated, or hadn't you noticed?
