    Although it's hard to tell how much of that was because of a strict reading of the Constitution, and how much of it was because the justices were fearful of Roosevelt packing the court to ram his agenda through.

    But yes, a great deal of it survived.  And I wouldn't be too happy about some of it.  (If you haven't heard, look for Wickard v. Filburn on Wikipedia--it's a case that massively expanded the Commerce Clause powers of Congress).

      he only tried to pack the court because they were overturning New Deal legislation. Some things that went down...
