I live in a heavily Hispanic area of Houston and I have never had trouble with the Latino community judging my same sex relationship. They have been very open and caring - not judgemental in the least. I was curious how this myth about Latinos being socially conservative got started. Latino's (especially Mexicans) love family be it traditional or non-traditional.  We are invited to parties by our neighbors, receive Christmas cards etc... I don't think the Latino community is as conservative as the media has led us to believe.

my Hispanic friends and neighbors are fine with me and my partner living our life as we choose, but they're not comfortable with the "M word".  Most of them seem to be in that "everything but" camp.
