  •  I believe he's saying this: (10+ / 0-)

I think Beck was alleging that the powers that be (Nancy Pelosi and the Democratic Party establishment) have allowed into/brought into Washington dangerous radicals and communists who cannot be controlled and, therefore, must be shot.

You'll notice the "you" is referring to the powers that be and not his viewers.

So, his viewers shouldn't shoot the radicals. They should let Nancy Pelosi shoot the radicals.

The subtext for the audience is, of course, "do you trust people who put radicals into power to remove them?" If you're watching Glenn Beck, I'm guessing no. So, how do you deal with radicals? You have to remove them from power (which you can't, because you're not an elite) or you have to "shoot them in the head."

If it wasn't so nefarious, it'd be quite clever. Get across a message that explicitly calls for violence while also explicitly making clear that you weren't talking to the audience while also looking directly at the audience and making extensive use of the pronoun "you". He's covered against lawsuits or sanctions ("I didn't tell my audience to shoot people") while whipping up his followers into a book-buying, tea-party-rallying frenzy.
