    is not a new practice.  The rule of law has long been used to deprive individuals of their human rights.  Had to.  Otherwise slavery would not have been legal.

    The rights of persons have always taken a back seat to the rights of property.  We have a long way to go to attain full recognition and respect for human rights, especially since property rights serve as a sop to distract from the deprivation of human rights.

    The conservative mind relies mainly on what is plain to see.
