Apparently you finally got the message that it isn't Third World population increase that causes global warming.  On the other hand, there's no sign you got the word that there's plenty that can be done to reduce per capita energy usage in the US and not lower living standards. (Living standards may eventually change, but there's LOTS of low-hanging fruit here in terms of energy efficiency.  Also there is a lot of green energy development available.)

But I bet you will keep posting the same comment for several days, given your history.

    •  You completely do not understand the importance (0+ / 0-)

of energy to our living standards.

And the USA is way overpopulated and the world is way overpopulated.

and I've been studying the question of energy and our living standards for some time now.

Here is an introductions to some of the possibilities over on Climate Progress.

        •  I glanced through that site (0+ / 0-)

But if you suggest that the population of the USA can continue to rise while we use less energy without taking a major hit to our standard of living you don't know what you are talking about.

More of your "It's hopeless, so let's do nothing!" talk.  There's plenty we can and should do.

getting fat eating too much, stuck in traffic, living in McMansions difficult to take care of, not knowing one's neighbors, no sense of community where you life no more than a few hundred feet apart from each other ...

that's not a high standard of living, in my book.

            •  The McMansions are built, The highways are built (0+ / 0-)

and it is going to take energy to build something else.  If we keep our population stable, possibly we can we expend this energy wisely and lower our energy needs.  We would still need a great deal of energy just to maintain our population.  It would obviously be best if our population drifted lower.

But in the face of a rising population there is no solution to our energy problem.
