  •  The question I'd rather ask myself is (0+ / 0-)

what are my goals and how do I accomplish them?

I need to see a clear path from supporting Dems, (including Obama) to:

    Rebuilding the middle class
Reducing the military budget and presence
    Providing equal rights for all
    Rebuilding our safety nets
Eliminating corporate influence in our government
    Protecting our environment

We may debate whether or not the Dems will get us there, but if I do not see that happening, then I'd be stupid not to find another path.

I'd rather see the accomplishment of my goals in 2025 than get 10% of them in 2013 with no hope of going farther, and that's about where I think we are now....10%..maybe.

    •  What do you mean by no hope of going further? (0+ / 0-)

When in American History has the pace of change ever been anything but slow?

I will tell you this: History has taught us that if we abandon our goals from impatience, bringing them to fruition never comes easier.

it's unlikely you will get farther toward your goals.

In addition, if your policy goals are consistently "off the table", then any amount of patience is not going to accomplish them.

Now if we were seeing the Dems fight and fight hard for these things, I'd tend to agree with you, that the battle is slow and that we are making progress.
