I am not clear, what exactly your arguments are.  More of a rant, and even more insulting, a rant suggesting you have "new" or previously undiscovered or undiscussed revelations about Paul Robeson.  FAIL

Robeson was an entertainer, like Bono, in his day, elected to nothing, representing nobody. But a celeb.

    but rail away.

discovering new information. And yes, I thought a lot more SHOULD have been discussed yesterday. Look into the history of the man Robeson groveled before and lavishly praised, and then tell me my outrage is misplaced.

If the Democrats won't fight for me, why should I fight for them?

I don't disagree that Robeson's politics were flawed, especially by modern standards with the benefit of hindsght)

Soviet Russia did in word, if not deed, affirm and institutionalize equality among races and many African Americans and American Jews were supportive of the  Stalinist regime for that reason.

Conditions for both groups, in the US were atrocious.
Robeson fought, at personal risk for equal rights for a disadvantaged people, as did the Rosenbergs and Greenglass.

The lessons of the era are more nuanced than the offering above suggests.
