    I seem to remember an urban legend about Russian soldiers in Siberia staying warm by standing in front of large radar transmitters.  Microwave and radar are close...errr... i dunno :)

      The microwave oven was discovered in the United States when a radar expert was working on a new design.  He got hungry, and pulled out his, now melted, milk chocolate bar from his pocket.  He later worked with Amana to create the first commercial microwave over, the Radar Range.  By the way, the first thing that they tried in the prototype was popcorn!
