  •  The thousand jobs in Michigan will be outsourced (17+ / 0-)

as well, after the U.S. worker have debugged the systems. General Electric under Immelt's reign fired/reduced their U.S. work force by approximately 20,000 per year the last two years. These were almost all union jobs, and for those remaining they have been able to push wage reductions. They have to remain competitive, don't they?

    •  Why not? (8+ / 0-)

They have everything else.  Once MI Economic Development pays them a gazillion dollars for those 1,000 jobs and they accomplish the task, they'll ship em out just like all the rest.

I don't trust any of them, mostly Obama.  I won't listen to his speech on Tuesday because why?   He lied like hell in 2008, and now I'm suppose to believe him?   Nah, fool me once...and he really didn't fool me.   I just had no place else to go - for the last time.

for an idea of how his upward transfer of wealth program to "solve" the jobs problem is going to be structured. Since for a centrist, more money for people with private jets is the "solution" to every problem which somehow never actually gets solved (see also the national health care program that turned into a health insurance industry bailout), seeing how he plans to extract it from us has a certain inherent interest.

I suspect that whatever he comes up with, the bulk of the actual job creation will be in China. Where's the money coming from? I'm expecting program cuts (e.g. Social Security) and government worker layoffs.

        I just figured it out!

Immelt is just the guy for the job! Gone will be the days of outsourcing U.S. jobs to poorer countries. The way to get those jobs back? WE BECOME THE POORER COUNTRY! It's brilliant!

We don't need a third party. We need a second party.
