  •  Duh I'll read more carefully next time LOL (7+ / 0-)

Currently, workers pay social security payroll taxes on up to $106,800 of their salary. To ensure the long-term viability of Social Security, would you rather have people pay social security taxes on salaries above $106,800, or would you rather see benefits cut and the retirement age increased to age 69?

Thats a smart way to word it.

Hey you, dont tell me theres no hope at all Together we stand, divided we fall.

    •  I'd rather have seen another option (0+ / 0-)

The smartest thing to do would be to impost a "donut hole."  People in the $100,000-$200,000" income range (if a family in an expensive city) are not awash in extra money.  But if you impose this extra requirement on all income of $250,000 and up -- or even $300,00 to $500,000 -- it makes sense.  I'll bet that voters would agree.
