    Ted Stevens was prosecuted for something very much like this and the case against him was weak compared to this one.  The DOJ ought to get all over him.  The House should also begin an investigation but the lock-step GOP won't, especially since that would give Obama another appointment to the SCOTUS—for all their talk about values and responsibility the GOP is really all about politics and power.

    If Thomas's defense is that he couldn't understand the law then he ought to resign immediately for gross incompetence; of course that would require some sense of integrity on his part which is obviously lacking.
